Help amputees in Nepal walk again
This year, The Acts of Kindness Collective is committed to changing the lives of 30 amputees in Jumla, a remote and impoverished district in West Nepal, by providing them with prosthetic limbs so that they can get back on their feet.
In partnership with Oda Foundation, and Prosthetics Without Borders, our Back on Their Feet program has already provided life changing surgery and prosthetic limbs to 25 amputees living in West Nepal.
For the 2019 medical camp, AOKC is partnering with the NGMC, to provide services to 30 amputees living in the Jumla district. The project aims to empower our beneficiaries by enabling a regained independence and an improved emotional and mental well-being. Furthermore, local prosthetists will receive training by our team of international specialists which will help the long term development of amputee care in Nepal.
We’re asking YOU to help fund this project. You can donate any amount you like and your donation will be combined with others to fund one of the goals below.
1) CAST PROSTHETIC LIMBS
AOKC and NGMC’s specialists will assess the prosthetic and surgery needs (where necessary) of 30 beneficiaries.
2) CREATE THE PROSTHETIC LIMBS
AOKC will purchase the components to create the prosthetic limbs alongside local prosthetists at NGMC, to build the prosthetic limbs based on each individual cast.
3) FIT PROSTHETICS
AOKC will fit each beneficiary with their specific prosthetic limb and make sure that they can comfortably walk.
Your donation will allow the AOKC to give the gift of walking to amputees in Jumla and change their lives!
THANK YOU
Lina
How do I know my donation will make an impact?
The Acts of Kindness Collective operates a 100% model. This means that we raise money for any overheads separately, so that 100% of your donation to a specific campaign can always be guaranteed to be spent on that project.
