Help me make an impact on the young students living in Nepal
Hello wonderful friends and family,
As some of you may know, I am travelling to Nepal in a few weeks, with the incredible AOKC volunteer group. Since the devastating earthquake in 2015, there has been a demand for schools, furniture, and really, any assistance where possible. It is for this reason, that I consider myself extremely lucky to be able to be a part of a group of 14 like-minded humans, heading out to Nepal, to help with the construction of the new classrooms, library and computer labs.
The school has grown out of their facilities and the community needs more classrooms to be able to provide schooling to the children in the area. This is a highly impoverished area with a high need being able to take in more children into the schooling system, and teaching them beyond the first 5 grades to give them a real shot in life. This is a much needed upgrade so more children can get schooling and the existing children at the school can continue their education.
I was lucky enough to grow up with access to an incredible education, equipment and surroundings that allowed me to learn, grow and expand my interests at such a young age. This is the real reason I want to travel to Nepal, to be able to support the school and meet the students and help in any way I possibly can.
This is where you come in. Any donations, big or small would help massively - and goes directly to funding school construction costs and pay wages to Nepali locals helping us improve education to children in need. The AOKC is a volunteer run organisation so you can be confident your money is being put to good use and only towards costs on the ground.
Thank you to everyone in advance, and I will of course be keeping you posted with updates along the way.
Big hugs,
V
